Orders

These terms and conditions set out the basis on which you can use our website and place online orders. To place orders, you must be aged 18 or over and a UK resident. By accessing this website and ordering goods from Cornish EPOS and IT Services Ltd online, you are deemed to have understood and accepted these terms.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Your consumer rights are not affected.

Your order for goods is accepted and a contract is formed between you and Cornish EPOS and IT Services Ltd at the point we despatch the goods. A contract is not formed at the point in time that payment has been taken from you by Cornish EPOS and IT Services Ltd, nor at the point in time that you receive an email from us acknowledging receipt of your order. Until the goods are despatched, we may not accept the order, or you may cancel the order. Certain exceptions apply to this, such as orders for personalised items and goods, which cannot be cancelled by you once Cornish EPOS and IT Services Ltd has sent confirmation by email that your order has been received, as such goods may already be in production. For a list of exceptions to items you can return, please see the returns policy.

Cornish EPOS and IT Services Ltd shall continue to own any goods ordered by you until it has received payment in full, even though the goods may have already been delivered to you.

Your Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you are contracting with us as a consumer online or by phone, you have the right to cancel your contract at any time up to 14 days after the day on which you received the goods you ordered. This excludes certain goods that we sell, for example, items made or customised to your order (e.g. personalised goods), audio recordings, computer software or special orders.

You must inform us of your wish to cancel in writing, either by letter, email, or phone (on 0800 112 0002), within a period of 14 days beginning on the day after the day you receive your goods.

You must take reasonable care of the goods and not use them. You must return goods in their original packaging, wherever possible, within 14 days of informing us of your wish to cancel. If you return goods, we will not be responsible for any loss or damage to them during transit. We recommend that you use a recorded or secure delivery method. If goods are lost or damaged in transit, we may charge you, or not refund to you, amounts that are attributable to the loss or damage. See returns section for details of how to return goods to us.

You must not return substitute or alternative items. If you do so, we reserve the right to send incorrectly returned items back to you at our discretion, and you shall remain responsible for the cost of the original goods purchased. We reserve the right to charge an investigation fee of no less than £35 to cover the cost of our investigation. We may offset the amount you owe from other sums that may be due to you for refunds. Accepting returned goods and/or crediting an account does not constitute a waiver of our right to charge an investigation fee.

Further details of how to return goods can be found in the Returns and Refunds Policy section below.

Additional terms and conditions apply to cancelling orders for certain goods, such as made-to-order items. Please refer to the terms relating to the supply of those goods.

Refund and Returns Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not, we’re here to help. Our refund and returns policy lasts 28 days. If 28 days have passed since your goods were delivered to you, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.

Returns

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it, with the original packaging intact. To complete your return, we require a receipt/invoice or proof of purchase. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned unless faulty. We also do not accept products that are hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Additional non-returnable items:

  • Special orders or items marked as “non-returnable”
  • Downloadable software products
  • Personalised or custom-made items

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts, for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 28 days after delivery

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will be applied to your original method of payment within 7-10 working days. Delivery charges are non-refundable unless the item was faulty, damaged, or incorrectly supplied. If you receive a refund, the delivery charges will be deducted from your refund. You will be responsible for paying for your own delivery charges for returning your item.

If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Exchanges

We do not offer exchanges.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

If your item is faulty, damaged, or not as described, please notify us within 14 days of receipt. We will arrange a replacement, repair, or full refund in accordance with your consumer rights.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at office@cornishservices.co.uk.

To return your product, or if you have any questions related to refunds and returns, please contact us at office@cornishservices.co.uk or 0800 112 0002 with your order/invoice number. We will provide instructions and, where applicable, a return authorisation.

Delivery Terms

We currently deliver to addresses within the United Kingdom. If you are outside these areas, please contact us to discuss possible arrangements. Standard delivery is 5-10 working days from the date of order, subject to stock availability. Unless otherwise agreed, delivery times are to be understood as “approximate”. Express or same-day delivery may be available upon request at an additional charge. Delivery charges are calculated at checkout and depend on order value, size, and destination.

Order Tracking

Where possible, you will receive confirmation and tracking details once your order has been dispatched.

Delays

We make every effort to deliver within stated timeframes, but unforeseen circumstances (weather, traffic, and courier delays) may cause delays. We will notify you promptly if this occurs.

Damaged or Missing Items

Please inspect goods upon delivery. If items are missing, damaged, or incorrect, notify us within 14 days so we can resolve the issue quickly.

Click & Collect (if applicable)

You may choose to collect your order from our offices at Redruth, Cornwall. We will notify you when your order is ready for collection.

General

Prices

UK, EU and Channel Islands: The prices shown are exclusive of any value added tax or sales tax. Due to circumstances beyond our control, prices may have to be altered up or down, including any alterations to the rate of value added tax or sales tax. The current price will be shown when you place your order. All prices shown are cash prices in sterling. Prices of goods displayed in and ordered online through the Cornish EPOS and IT Services website may differ from prices via other methods.

If costs like materials, energy, or freight unexpectedly change after the contract, we will adjust the price to reflect the new costs. We must promptly justify the change to the buyer, without needing to show detailed calculations. Price adjustments take effect when costs change, but increases won’t apply before justification and notification. If a price increase exceeds 10%, the buyer can withdraw within two weeks of notification. No price increase will occur if the change results from our responsible, imprudent actions, and we are not required to lower prices.
